Become an AYSO Referee
The referee’s job is to be the official in charge of the game. A referee’s authority extends to everyone at the field, including players, substitutes, team officials, spectators, and even assistant referees. AYSO Referees keep the game safe, fair, and fun for everyone!
It only takes a few hours to become qualified as an introductory-level referee. If you're short on time, even helping a few hours each season is a valuable contribution to your team and Region!
STEP 1
Volunteer Registration
Contact the Regional Commissioner and fill out a volunteer form on our portal to get started.
STEP 2
Certifications
Complete two quick online courses: CDC Concussion Awareness and AYSO Safe Haven.
STEP 3
Referee Training
Take an age-specific referee course. We provide all manuals and e-learning support you need to feel confident.
AYSO Region 1370 is a volunteer-run organization. Our foundation ensures that it’s all about what’s good for kids. Training doesn’t stop—referees, coaches, and administrators have access to clinics, workshops, and advanced training as long as they’re having fun!
