Palm Beach County Lightning Safety Procedures and Policies
While most of you are very responsive and responsible during this rainy season, it was brought to our attention that some sport providers, parents, or players may be reluctant to cancel games or practices due to rain or lightning.
Although we do not have lightning alert systems at our athletic fields in Palm Beach County, the sports program administrator (the permitted provider) is responsible for monitoring conditions and removing play from the fields immediately—without delay. Personal vigilance and responsibility to stop all activities are paramount for lightning safety.
