Hello Coaches,
As we move deeper into our South Florida spring season, this is a friendly reminder regarding our
AYSO 1370 weather and lightning safety procedures.
Weather conditions can change quickly, and while we always want to maximize field time,
player and volunteer safety must always come first.
Lightning & Thunder Policy
- If you hear thunder, clear the field immediately
- If lightning is visible within 10 miles, stop all activity immediately
- Do not wait for rain to begin
- Wait a minimum of 30 minutes after the last thunder or lightning before resuming
- If conditions remain unstable, use your best judgment and end the session early
- We use LIGHTNING app and/or WEATHERBUG
Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation places the responsibility on the
permitted sports provider and coaching staff to remove players from the field
without delay whenever unsafe weather approaches.
🌧 Coach Communication Expectations
Please make sure your families know:
- Where to seek shelter
- Where to meet after a delay or cancellation
- How your team communication channel will provide updates
AYSO 1370 Standard:
We understand cancellations can be frustrating after setup and warm-up,
but we will always choose safety first.
Thank you for staying proactive, responsible, and putting our players first.
We appreciate all you do for our region and community.
