📌 What is AYSO?
The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is one of the largest youth soccer programs in the United States. We are a 100% volunteer-driven organization dedicated to creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
✔️ Everyone Plays® – Every player gets at least 50% playing time.
✔️ Balanced Teams – Teams are formed to ensure fairness.
✔️ Open Registration – No tryouts or exclusions based on ability.
✔️ Positive Coaching – Encouragement over criticism.
✔️ Good Sportsmanship – Respect for opponents and referees.
✔️ Player Development – Long-term growth over wins.
📢 Coaching & Sideline Guidelines
Coaches and parents set the tone for the game. We prioritize a development-focused environment:
- Sideline Behavior: Support players positively without over-coaching.
- Session Planning: Use age-appropriate training structures.
- Respect for Referees: Promoting a culture of respect for our volunteer officials.
🏆 Game Day Policies
Pre-Game
Arrive early for warm-ups, ensure proper equipment (shin guards!), and check-in with referees.
During the Game
Manage substitutions fairly and keep the focus on positive reinforcement rather than shouting instructions.
⛈️ Weather & Safety
Safety is our top priority. Please adhere to the following:
- Lightning: If within 10 miles, games/practices are postponed for 30 minutes.
- Fields: Closures will be sent via email and updated on the website.
- Heat: Modified times and hydration breaks will be enforced during extreme heat.
