📌 What is AYSO?

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is one of the largest youth soccer programs in the United States, built on the philosophy of “Everyone Plays®” and a commitment to positive player development. AYSO is a 100% volunteer-driven organization, and our goal is to create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where kids develop a lifelong love for soccer.

🌟 AYSO's Six Philosophies:
✔️ Everyone Plays® – Every player gets at least 50% playing time.
✔️ Balanced Teams – Teams are formed to ensure fairness and development.
✔️ Open Registration – No tryouts or exclusions based on ability.
✔️ Positive Coaching – Encouragement over criticism to build confidence.
✔️ Good Sportsmanship – Respect for teammates, opponents, and referees.
✔️ Player Development – Long-term growth over short-term wins.

📍 About AYSO Region 1370

AYSO Region 1370 proudly serves our local community by providing high-quality soccer programs for players of all skill levels. Our volunteers—coaches, referees, and administrators—are the backbone of our success.

Interested in Volunteering? AYSO 1370 is always looking for parents and community members to help make the experience better for our players. Whether as a coach, referee, or team parent, your support makes a huge difference!

📢 Coaching & Sideline Behavior Guidelines

Coaches and parents play a crucial role in creating a positive, development-focused soccer environment. In this section of the video, we discuss:

Sideline Behavior: How to encourage players positively without over-coaching.
Session Planning: Structuring effective and age-appropriate training sessions.
Player Development Focus: Prioritizing skill-building, confidence, and game understanding.
Respect for Referees: Understanding their role and promoting a culture of respect.

⚠️ Remember: Coaches set the tone for the game! Our goal is to provide a supportive and stress-free learning experience for young athletes.

🏆 Game Day Policies & Action Items

Game day should be fun, safe, and well-organized. In this video, we cover:

📋 Pre-Game Responsibilities:
✔️ Arriving early for warm-ups and check-ins.
✔️ Ensuring all players have the proper equipment.
✔️ Communicating with referees and opposing coaches.

🚀 During the Game:
✔️ Reinforcing positive reinforcement over shouting instructions.
✔️ Managing player substitutions fairly.
✔️ Encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship.

🎯 Post-Game Reflection:
✔️ Thanking referees, coaches, and volunteers.
✔️ Focusing on player development rather than just the score.
✔️ Reviewing key takeaways to improve for the next match.
