Season Readiness & Field Update

A Message to our Families,
We want to speak from the heart: we truly understand your frustration. We are sincerely sorry the season has not gone the way anyone planned. Needless to say, we, as a team of volunteers, did not expect the season to face these specific challenges either.
Our volunteers have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to make this season happen. While we try to see things from your point of view, please be understanding when reaching out via email. We are always open to receiving more help, and if you are willing to support our program, we would love to have you join our volunteer team.
We are exploring possibilities for some type of discount for next season. We openly communicated everything since the beginning, along with potential timelines and field locations. Refunds were given before the season started, and not after 1 month of sessions.
This season, participants still would have received:
* 8 weeks of season (Apr 6 start, May 31 end), * 3-4 games minimum, * With some flexibility from coach(es) and families, able to have 7-8 games, * Across 4-5 weekends in May, * 2 ID Clinics at Boynton Knights FC by licensed travel coaches, * Uniforms,
* Insurance,
* TURF fields,
* Equipment

AYSO refers to the official AYSO year as the Membership Year.
Membership Years are designated as MYXXXX where XXXX is the year in which the membership period begins.

Background Check & Fingerprinting
As an organization that interacts with children, we fall under statewide background check standards. Legislative statutes require a "Level 2" fingerprint-based background check, ensuring individuals do not have disqualifying offenses under abuse registries and state childcare licensing standards.
Next Steps for and from AYSO 1370: We will have a local provider to help with the staff and volunteer clearances as required. We are looking into the possibility of having them come on site, or to book yourself an appointment for a time which is most convenient for you.
What is needed from the volunteer(s)?
It is important that you bring two forms of US Government-issued IDs. Driver's license and social security card are the two best. We cannot accept IDs stored on the phone or photocopies, only originals. You will be required to have your biometric fingerprints electronically taken to compare against national registry databases.
FDLE Clearing House Update
The clearing house department of the FDLE confirmed the following:
-
The requirement is delayed until July 1, 2026.
-
The clearance of fingerprints will be moved to
ACHA (Clearing House) for the July 1, 2026 start up.
-
AYSO will have the opportunity to set up our
ACHA (Clearing House) account in early 2026.
-
All fingerprints will have to be redone in 2026 with a new
ORI registered with ACHA (Clearing House).
-
Fingerprint clearances obtained through ACHA will be
valid for five years.
Coaching and Team Assignments
All our coaches are volunteers, usually parents of the players. We are always in need of coaches and assistant coaches, so please consider volunteering! Soccer skills aren’t necessary, especially at the younger age groups.
We will have a coaches' meeting prior to the season. Coach Asaf will communicate drills, hand out equipment, etc.. WE WILL GUIDE YOU!!
Team-formation process:
Volunteer coaches are guaranteed one player request.
Additional requests may be submitted, but they are not guaranteed.
Teams are formed to remain balanced and fair for all players.
Player placement is also influenced by registration timing and practice-night preference upon registration.
As registrations come in, players are distributed accordingly while we do our best to accommodate requests when possible.
Practice and Game Information
Practices: Coaches pick their own practice schedules. Your child's coaches will let you know what day, time, and field number a week before practice starts. All age groups have 2 Practices Per Week.
SY - PG - U6 - U8 - U10s typically are at 6PM, U12-U14s are at 7PM, U16/U19s are at 815PM.
Where are the practices and games played? West Boynton Park Vista - Soccer Complex. You will be assigned a field to play on. Games are on Friday nights (under the lights) and/or Saturdays.
Game Times by Age Group:
- U5 and U6: 10-minute halves
- U8: 20-minute halves
- U10: 25-minute halves
- U12: 30-minute halves
- U14: 35-minute halves
- U16: 40-minute halves
- U19: 45-minute halves
Division Game Format Overview
Is My Kid Ready To Sign Up?
Our philosophy allows the game to be the teacher by maximizing each player’s touches on the ball and encourages all the players to develop their skills in all positions. Further, the philosophy discourages intense competition until the older age groups.
We will have children of all levels participating on each team in our program. We have developed a system that provides both a fun and productive environment for players at all levels. Although our focus is predominantly on the enjoyment of playing the game, we would also like to utilize our time effectively with the children by teaching them as much as possible about the game and the skills needed to excel in the sport.
AYSO 1370
In an effort to continue improving our recreational league for the kids in our community, we are making the following adjustments/upgrades for the upcoming season:
- Balanced teams – we requested all the coaches to give us the ranking of the players and will utilize it to try to do a better job balancing teams.
- Sunday clinics – we will offer Sunday clinics with our licensed and professional coaching team. The objective is to provide the players in our region with quality technical sessions.
- Paid referees – U10 and older will have a paid center referee for the games to help the games be more organized and take away the extra responsibilities from our volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a certified ref, please reach out to Mo as we are looking to put a team of approx. 10-20 ref’s to cover the games.
- Playing Up/Down policy – everybody plays age-appropriate - https://www.aysoregion1370.com/Default.aspx?tabid=959212
- Travel Players – if you are currently enrolled in a travel team for soccer, please think about our community and the fairness in all competitions. Placement on a Travel team is by invitation only with competitive tryouts. If you play for a travel team, please think about the other kids and parents, by not taking a spot and playing time of somebody else within AYSO.
*Please note the dates are subject to change.
Thank you.
